Former Egghead CJ de Mooi will be hosting a quiz of his own for the Newport business community on May 14.

The City of Newport Business Club is staging the quiz as its end of season business meeting at at The Holiday Inn, Newport.

Probably one the country's most recognisable quizzers from his 10 years on Eggheads, CJ de Mooi has hosted a solo spin off series, Revenge of the Egghead, which aired last year. He is also an actor with a string of west end credits to his name, and his debut feature film, The Renata Road, will premiere at this year's Cannes festival.

He is currently writing his autobiography and his previous book How To Win TV Quiz Shows, topped several Amazon charts.

CJ is also a high level athlete, specialising in long distance running. He won the celebrity race at the 2014 London Marathon and this year he fulfilled his ambition of breaking the magical three-hour barrier, completing the gruelling course in 2hrs 58.30.

A former Mensa chess champion, CJ has immense experience within the quiz and game show genre.

The business club’s chairman Janine Dance said: “Yet again we thought we would end the 2014/15 season with another one of our trademark, unusual, end-of-season events. We look forward to welcoming Newport’s finest quiz players for what will be, I am sure, a most entertaining, fun and knowledgeable event”.

The event, which is open to all business people, costs £35 per person.
