A fire crew attends the car after it went up in flames on Lord Eldon Drive, Bulwark this morning.
A CAR caught fire in Chepstow this morning while the driver was still inside the vehicle.
The Ford Fiesta went up in flames due to a mechanical failure and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene on Lord Eldon Drive in Bulwark at 8.59am.
The female driver realised that flames were coming from the car and stopped the vehicle before stepping out to contact the emergency services.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said the incident was not suspicious. The driver was not injured in the incident.
