A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said the victim is a woman. She added they believe the incident involves one car.
The fire was brought under control after it started at around 1.44pm.
A spokeswoman said she did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances and that she was not aware of any road closures.

THE AIR ambulance has been scrambled to airlift a casualty with "severe burns" following a car fire in Tredegar this afternoon.
Fire crews from Tredegar and Ebbw Vale are at the scene on Dukestown Road in Ystrad Deri in Tredegar.
