THE WOMAN airlifted to hospital yesterday suffering ‘serious injuries’ following a Tredegar car fire has died.
Fire crews from Tredegar and Ebbw Vale were called to the scene on Dukestown Road in Ystrad Deri, Tredegar yesterday at around 1.44pm.
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that the woman had been airlifted to Morriston hospital in Swansea with serious injuries.
South Wales Fire and Rescue continue to investigate the cause of the fire, but a spokeswoman said they do not believe there are suspicious circumstances.
Gwent Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call 101 quoting log number 220 of 27/5/14.
