A HUSBAND and wife team are celebrating after their Ebbw Vale practice was named best dental practice in Wales and the South West.

Rhys and Laura Morgan, who own Bethcar Dental Practice, were presented with the award by Dentistry Magazine.

The couple took over the practice less than a year ago after they received financial backing from The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Mrs Morgan said: "We are delighted to achieve national recognition for the hard work and dedication of our team at Bethcar dental. We are very proud to be able to show our patients our continued commitment to excellence."

The dentistry awards are judged by a VIP committee of experienced people from all parts of the dental profession, including dentists, dental nurses and technicians.

With hundreds of entries from all over the UK, the awards recognise excellence in practice and outstanding individuals regionally around the UK.

Mr Morgan said: "It is a fantastic accolade to be presented with we are grateful to our staff for making it happen."

The awards are biggest event in UK dentistry with this year's event being the best attended awards ceremony ever with almost 800 people at the Athena in Leicester.

Bethcar Dental, which was previously called LT Holdings, came up for sale last year.

As well as treating patients in the practice, the team won a contract with the health board to offer dental domiciliary care for individuals in care homes or to those who are unable to make the trip to the practice.
