POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the Spar in Caerleon in which a man threatened staff before making off with cash.
The criminal went into the shop and petrol station in Ponthir Road at 10.50pm last night – just before it was due to shut at 11pm – and threatened staff, before making off on foot with a quantity of cash.
The robber is described as a white man, about 6ft tall with brown eyes. He was wearing a green hooded jacket with orange lining to the hood, dark blue jeans and dark coloured trainers. Most of his face was covered with a hood or scarf.
Police are investigating and asked anyone who witnessed the robbery to contact them on 101 quoting incident 525 of March 11.
