Telecoms firm TWL Voice and Data, which is based in St Mellons, near Newport, has appointed Gemma Angharad Morris as head of business development and marketing.

Gemma joins the business with a strong background in the unified communications sector with her previous role of managing nearly 400 clients and being responsible for a six figure budget.

The former Chartered Institute of Marketing Student of the Year said: “TWL Voice and Data is respected by its customers for its passion for flawless customer service; my role is to ensure our brand is maintained in this regard as well as overseeing the continued growth of the firm in Wales and further afield.

"It is a very exciting time to join the business as it aims to dominate the telecoms market over the next five years. There are a lot of challenges ahead, and I look forward to working with the team in overcoming these as well as creating some headaches for competitors by furthering our client-first approach.”

TWL Voice and Data currently employs 18 staff working with 500 businesses across the UK including Newport-based retailer JoJo Manan Bebe, Cardiff Metropolitan University, The Port of Milford Haven and Cardiff Blues.

The firm announced growth of 28 per cent last year, with turnover reaching £2.1m in 2015 compared with £1.5m in 2014. The forecast for year end 2016 is set at £2.4m.

Further acquisitions are planned for this year, with the forecasted turnover figure of £2.4m to be excluding any deals that will be made across the year. By 2018, the business plans to employ a team of 30 recording a turnover of £5m.

Her immediate role will cover all manner of new business for our multiple divisions from fixed line to security, but she will be working on long term, strategies alongside myself to help us achieve our ambitious growth targets.”
