CHILDREN at a Chepstow nursery have taken part in their very own Invictus Games to raise money for an armed forces charity.

The children from Riverside Nursery in Tutshill decided to host their own games after learning about the multi-sport event in which wounded, injured or sick armed services personnel and their associated veterans compete.

The games were created by Prince Harry, with their second event held last week in Orlando, Florida.

More than 500 competitors from 14 nations took part.

The nursery have raised £50 for the Help for Heroes charity who provide direct, practical support for wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their loved ones.

Sarah Sheppard, deputy manager, of the nursery said: "We have a lot of children whose parents are military and so it is something that means a lot to us all.

"We asked all of the children that were in last Friday to donate £2 for Help the Heroes and set up an obstacle course. The children all took part in this and enjoyed doing the obstacle course."
