A CAR fire has caused delays and standstill traffic on the M4 just outside Newport.
The fire service was at the scene of the fire between the exit and entry slip roads for junction 28 for Tredegar Park. Part of the motorway was closed for around 20 minutes.
Traffic is heavy on the M4 both ways around the junction.
Delays are reported eastbound between junction 28 at Tredegar Park and junction 29 where two lanes were closed.
One lane was closed westbound and delays are reported from junction 24.
Traffic was being diverted off the exit slip road at junction 28 and around the Tredegar Park roundabout before rejoining the motorway via the entry slip road.
All lanes have now reopened.
