We have arrived in Barca on the same day as Thierry Henry but I'll bet he found it a whole lot easier than we did to find the place (directions in Espana are itermittent and roads keep turning into motorways with no warning, no hard shoulder and no thought whatsoever for any cyclists who might be travelling in that direction).

But never mind that I've just ordered dos cervezas grandes and el camarero has brought us a couple of Party Sevens!

The coast road from Villanova to Barca is both spectacular and dangerous - hairpin climbs and descents with a sheer drop into the Mediterranean on our right hand side. We had a road rage incident too - a Spaniard driving a 4x4 seemed to think we were using up too much of the road on the corners and wound down his electric windows to discuss this with us at 40 mph. Speaking Spanish at this speed into a moving vehicle is not easy but I got the impression he was not being complimentary. He tried the same trick with Martin but got a reply that didn't involve the use of words.

Martin has now extended the collection of things that he has dropped onto the road to include the whole of his left pannier. Luckily the following trucks managed to avoid grinding the pannier and its contents into the tarmac and thus squashing his smalls and other personal effects. I have to say that even had they done so there would have been no discernible effect on his appearance.
