A LORRY fire has closed the A469 in both directions.
Gwent Police have confirmed via their social media that the road is closed from the Cedar Tree roundabout towards Llanbradach.
Emergency services are at the scene, and are dealing with the incident, and polcie are asking commuters to avoid the area if possible.
Fire and rescue services remain at the scene, a spokeswoman has said.
One fire engine is attended near the Premier Inn on Corbetts Lane.
Gwent Police and South Wales Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
Traffic monitors are showing congestion to St Cenydd Road Roundabout for traffic northbound, and congestion back to the North Llanbradach Roundabout southbound.
Traffic is also built up along the A468 and Pontygwindy Road.
A detour has been put in place while emergency services deal with the situation.
