SILENT ART: Japanese mime artist Hiroyasu Sasaki who gave a workshop with the Ffin dance group pictured at the Metropole theatre in Abertillery
JAPANESE mime came to Gwent this week when a renowned artist held workshops.
Hiroyasu Sasaki, a respected Japanese mime artist and teacher, was in the Metropole theatre in Abertillery on Monday giving stage mime theatre workshops to members of Blaenau Gwent arts development and Ffin dance, a dance company based in South Wales.
People at the workshops we taught the basic skills and technique behind mime in a unique insight into Japanese mime, a well respected dance form in Japan.
Mr Sasaki, rarely visits the UK and was in Gwent as part of a joint partnership with the Wales millenium centre.
