If you're starting to think about your plans for Easter, look no further.

Penhein Glamping in Monmouthshire still has space for Easter for families who want to celebrate all things spring and sleep in a spacious high domed Persian ‘Alachigh’ tent.

The tents are tucked away in a secluded woodland with endless countryside on the edge of the Wye Valley near Chepstow.

In addition, during the Easter school holidays, there will be two live lambing sessions at 6.30am and 4pm on Tuesday, April 12.

The glampsite has a five-star rating on Tripadvisor and can be booked here.

What is a Persian ‘Alachigh’ tent?

An alachigh tent (“alla-cheeg”) is similar to a yurt and originates from Iran, where it is still used by the nomadic Shahsavan tribe.

Penhein’s alachigh tents have been custom-made for glamping, cosy yet spacious with a view to the stars from your pillow and each has a wood-burning stove and en-suite toilet.

The new tents have their own en-suite showers with the remaining tents having their own dedicated shower a short walk away as well as access to a luxury rolltop bath.

What other activities are there?

On Tuesday, April 12 there will be a festive nest-making session.

This includes an Easter egg hunt and creating your own nest for your Easter table.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided, for just £20 per adult and £15 per child.

The live lambing session also includes checking the ewes, bottle feeding lambs, helping with food and water and anything else that needs doing at this busy time of year.

These sessions take place every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the Easter holidays.

What dates are available and how much is it?

Three nights during the Easter holidays, between April 8 and 24, are available from £525 and seven nights from £895.

Stay for two nights from £295, based on a family of five staying in an Alachigh luxury tent.
