A WOMAN has recently published a book which will help readers get into the festive spirit.

Sixty-year-old Linn B. Halton is no stranger to the writing industry – she has 12 novels published under her real name and a further 14 under her pen name: Lucy Coleman.

Her most recent book is A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery which is aimed at adults and has been published through Aria Fiction, Head of Zeus. It is the second book in her Escape to Cornwall series.

When asked about her inspiration for the book, Ms Halton said: It’s impossible not to get submersed in the history of a place that inspired Winston Graham’s novels, and serialising it for TV as Poldark, enthralled a whole new generation.

“Thoughts of smugglers from long ago and the women folk keeping a lookout for the shoals of herrings that would feed their families during the long winter; life doesn’t get any more passionate than that.

“My second – and recently released – book in the Escape to Cornwall series, A Cornish Christmas at the Farmhouse Bakery is centred around Renweneth Farm, which has grown into the hub of the village."

South Wales Argus:

It celebrates the way even strangers can become friends when people band together," she continued.

“If you care about people, they will care about you; and that’s what embodies the spirit of the small Cornish villages, and no more so than at Christmas.”

Ms Halton recently moved from Caerphilly to Somerset, to be closer to family. She wrote six books while living in Wales, including one set in and around Caswell Bay in Mid Wales.
