TALENTED Coleg Gwent students are set to take the next step in their careers after being accepted to some of the UK’s most prestigious stage schools.
Many of the budding actors from the college’s musical theatre department will be going on to higher education institutions including Laine Theatre Arts and Performers College in Surrey, The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester, SLP in Leeds, Performers College in Essex and Bath University.
Among them is Kristian Morse, 18, from Tredegar, who is a step closer to achieving his dream of being on the West End stage after being accepted to study musical theatre at Mountview Academy of Performing Arts in London.
Mr Morse, who recently scooped a National Operatic and Drama Association award performing with Tredegar Operatic Society, said: “I’ve had an amazing few years at Coleg Gwent, but I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the course and feel like I’m well prepared for the challenge.”
Many of the graduates have already been gettting stuck into some acting work over the summer ahead of starting their courses with roles on BBC’s Being Human, Sherlock, Merlin, Casualty and The Night Watch.
