I RECENTLY gave a talk at Aberystwyth University outlining the history of the controversial and partially completed primary school and residential development at the Glebelands in St Julians, Newport. The talk, entitled The Glebelands Campaign, was delivered to about 15 students studying environmental law, human rights, and environmental management at LL.M, M.Phil, and PhD level.
Readers may recall that Newport council allowed the development to proceed on top of the Glebelands hazardous waste landfill without following the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. As I expect to present similar talks in the future, I would be grateful if Argus readers familiar with the Glebelands site, and those with some knowledge of the development, could review the content of my presentation and hence suggest possible improvements.
The presentation (a 29 MB PowerPoint file) includes my contact details and may be downloaded from the Glebelands Alliance web pages at: http://www.chepstowfoe.org.uk/glebelands/documents/Glebelands_Campaign_AYWU_v02.ppt Those wishing to view the presentation in other formats are welcome to call me on 07977 265060 to discuss the options.
