GWENT'S Chris Gunter believes former Cardiff team-mate Aaron Ramsey has the ability to step straight into the Barclays Premier League.
Ramsey, 17, looks like being the next Wales youngster to launch himself into the top flight, with the prospect of a £10million move to Manchester United being mooted.
Fellow teenager Gunter moved to Spurs from Cardiff for over £3million last season, and he and Ramsey could both figure in the same side for Wales during the next week as they face internationals in Iceland and Holland.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also thought to be interested, but the Champions League winners are believed to be leading the chase.
"Aaron has a decision to make but whichever club he goes to, he is going to improve and at his age that is what he needs to do," Gunter said.
"In terms of the young players I have worked with, he is the best I have seen and if he was at Spurs he would be very close to the first team.
"I have known him since he was nine and he has always played above his age group and not looked out of place.
"If he does make the move to the Premier League I do not think it will be long before he is playing week in and week out, because he is the sort of player who is capable of achieving anything he wants to."
Gunter feels that despite not having blistering pace, Ramsey possesses a number of qualities which will help him at the top level.
He added: "He may not be the quickest of players but he has great awareness, he never loses the ball and he always tends to make the right decisions, which at his age is amazing.
"He is a quiet lad and a little bit shy but he does not let himself get carried away by anything and very little fazes him.
"He made his Cardiff debut when he was still at school and I am sure if he steps up next season he will be a great success."
