TEENAGE Newport County AFC defender Regan Poole has been called into the Wales U17 squad for their trip to Belarus.
Sixteen-year-old Poole, who became County's youngest-ever first team player earlier this season, had been on stand-by for the triple header of UEFA qualifying matches but will now travel following the withdrawal of Birmingham City's Jack Challis.
Wales play Russia in Minsk on Sunday, Belarus in Molodechno on Tuesday, and return to Minsk to take on Montenegro next Friday.
Poole will miss County's matches against Dagenham and Redbridge, Southend United and Accrington Stanley as a result of his selection.
