NEWPORT County AFC midfielder Mitch Rose is eligible to play against Morecambe tomorrow night after his red card at Cambridge United was overturned on appeal.
Rose was facing an automatic one-match ban after he was sent off by referee Trevor Kettle in stoppage time at the Cambs Glass Stadium.
But in a statement the club said: "NewportCounty can confirm it has today appealed Mitchell Rose's red card from Saturday's match v Cambridge United.
"The appeal has been successful and Mitchell Rose is eligible to play in tomorrow’s match v Morecambe."
Rose may yet face another charge after he angrily knocked the card out of Kettle's hand but that incident will be dealt with separately if it was included in the referee's report on Saturday's match.
