IT'S been quite a week for me, I don't think I have ever received so many phone calls.

On Tuesday I revealed in the Argus that I had decided to split with Sports Network promoter Frank Warren and within hours it seemed to be headline news here and in America.

Having chosen the Argus to break the news, I expect to go into further detail regarding my decision in this column in the coming weeks.

As always, this is the place where I can write directly to the local people who have supported me throughout my career, but unfortunately this is not an appropriate time to go into more detail.

What I can say is that I expect to be meeting with Frank sometime in the next few days.

I can only reiterate that I am very keen for my decision to be respected and hope it doesn't create animosity between Frank and myself.

Frank has been involved in my career for over a decade and working with him I have enjoyed fantastic success, something I won't forget.

However, I have made my decision and as I stated in the Argus, it is my intention to fight Roy Jones Jnr in what I expect will be my final fight before retirement.

Not many fighters know to bow out at the right time, too many go on and on and I am determined not to do that.

I said on Tuesday that I hope negotiations between myself and Frank can be amicable and that is still the case.

Frank promotes every other member of the Team Calzaghe stable and will be promoting my great mate Enzo Maccarinelli in a matter of weeks. The association between Sports Network and the Calzaghe gym continues, even though I have decided to be self-managed.

So I guess it's a case of watch this space, I will be speaking with Frank and hopefully I will be able to go into more detail on this soon in my column.

I was thrilled to see Bradley Pryce win his third successive fight by way of stoppage on Saturday night.

Bradley has now gone seven fights unbeaten since winning the Commonwealth light middleweight title and I think he's earned the right to a world title eliminator fight now.

What pleased me most about Bradley's performance was how much he criticised himself afterwards.

Despite winning by stoppage and cutting up his opponent Marcus Portman pretty badly, Bradley was still annoyed he didn't dominate more in the opening three rounds.

That to me is a great attitude, even when you win there are things to look at and try to improve on.

But I think Bradley has reached the point now where he needs a world class opponent to bring out the best in him.

Once he steps up a level against a higher calibre of opponent then he will raise his game further, I've been saying for a year that Bradley is a much-improved fighter and he'll prove it soon enough.

Enzo Maccarinelli fights in Birmingham on July 19 and he's absolutely desperate to get back in the ring.

I can tell you he's been badgering Frank for months, he's still deeply frustrated and angry with himself for being beaten inside two rounds by David Haye.

It hurts Enzo that he's now referred to as a former' world champion, he thinks of himself as a champion in waiting.

No announcement yet on an opponent, but I think we're all expecting it to be a ten-rounder for Enzo.

You can't blame the matchmakers for being a bit cautious, but after Enzo wins it'll probably be about three seconds until he's asking Frank for a world title fight!

The guy is in seriously good shape. As soon as a couple of weeks passed after the Haye fight he was back in the gym and has been training flat-out for a number of weeks.

I wouldn't like to be the man facing him in three weeks!

Another fight I am eagerly awaiting is the Las Vegas clash tomorrow night between lightweights Manny Pacquiao and David Diaz.

Pacquiao is one of my favourite fighters and this should be a belter.

It takes on extra significance for me, because since Floyd Mayweather's retirement I am now rated number two in Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound rankings, behind Pacquiao.

Should Diaz win I guess that would make me number one, but pound-for-pound rankings are so objective, everyone has a different opinion.

Regarding the fight, I think it might be a close one but fancy that Pacquiao has enough to win, providing his epic trilogy with Erik Morales didn't take too much out of him.

Finally, I am glad to see Roberto Donadoni making way for (hopefully) Marcelo Lippi after Italy said arrivederci to the European Championships.

I know Argus writer Michael Pearlman was nearly as upset as I was, because he had an accumulator going on the semi-finalists and only needed Italy to win for it to come in!

I watched every Italy game with my family and Enzo Maccarinelli was also hoping we could do it again after lifting the World Cup.

Italy were awful though, negative, one-dimensional and lacking in creativity throughout the side, never looking like scoring against Spain.

I will be supporting the Spanish in the final. The Germans were incredibly lucky to get past Turkey and I don't want to see them win. But you can never write them off!
