TICKETS for Newport County’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United have sold out within 45 minutes of going on sale online.

Thousands of fans eager to see the Exiles face the Red Devils on Sunday have been queuing since 10am for tickets with some facing up to more than an hour's wait.

Newport County will host Manchester United at Rodney Parade on Sunday, January 28, after beating Eastleigh 3-1 in a third-round replay on Tuesday night.

Rodney Parade will be full for the visit of the Premier League giants with tickets for the clash already sold out.

Newport County announced yesterday that the ticket office is closed today for general ticket sales after staff faced abuse and threatening behaviour during the priority purchase period on Thursday.

One of our reporters joined the queue at 10am to see if they could get tickets to the clash with more than 6,235 fans queuing to get tickets despite County announcing that tickets sold out.

Some fans queued for tickets at 9:15am before they went on sale at 10am and secured tickets within 40 minutes.

Ethan Young, a county fan, said: “I managed to get two tickets, I joined the queue at 9.15am and got tickets at 9:50 am.”

Newport County confirmed on X, formally known as Twitter, that all tickets for the FA Cup clash against Manchester United have now sold out.
