NEWPORT County progressed to the final of the FAW Premier Cup after stunning Championship outfit Cardiff City at Ninian Park.
Jason Bowen's header deep into extra time put County ahead, but former Rangers striker Steve Thompson equalised.
County were the first to blink in a nerve jangling penalty shootout, Damon Searle's effort rebounding out off the underside of the bar.
However, Thompson blazed wide, Lee Jarman converted and then Glyn Thompson saved from young substitute Jack Carlile to send the travelling Exiles fans into raptures.
Full report, plus reaction from manager Peter Beadle and players, in tomorrow's Argus Sport.
