A TV presenter made a funny Freudian slip on BBC Morning Live this morning.

Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh were chatting with Alison Steadman OBE about a Gavin and Stacey quiz she is hosting tonight to raise money for the UK’s leading end of life charity Marie Curie.

When chatting about the quiz, which takes place at 8pm tonight, Gethin Jones mistakenly called Alison Steadman OBE “Pamela” – referring to her role on Gavin and Stacey as Gavin’s mother: Pam Shipman.

Fortunately, the verbal blunder caused no offence and had both presenters and Ms Steadman in stitches.

While still laughing as the mishap, Gethin Jones said: “I just called you Pamela – I’m so sorry, I can’t help myself!” with Ms Steadman reassuring him that it is “alright”.

Ms Steadman also shared news of a special guest joining the Gavin and Stacey quiz tonight – a familiar face to fans of the show.
