NEWPORT rock band Finding Aurora are releasing their new single The Last Call on February 19.
The band say the track is about cutting toxic people off and moving on. It is one of the first singles where the topic takes a more personal turn.
Frontman Samuel Wagenaar said: “It was inspired by personal experiences. I hadn’t really written about personal experiences before but it was a nice transition and the track sets the tone for the rest of our music to come.
“We wrote the song a year ago now so its nice to get it out there.”
It was recorded in February 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic fully hit, with Tom Auton at Musicbox Studios and his house.

The quartet, which also features, bassist Luc Simmonds, guitarist Lloyd Flower, and drummer Nick Williams have had a successful start to their career. In late 2017, they formed as a bedroom project and have sold out headline shows in Newport and Cardiff, performing to more than 100 people at a time, including a sold-out release show at LePub for single Overdrive.
Their debut EP was recorded with Jeff Rose, who has produced records for fellow Newportonians Skindred and Dub War.
Finding Aurora are currently working on a full length album and hope to get back to performing live when the current pandemic rules allow.
