The Baltic is best for bargain-hungry Britons, according to a costs-in-resorts survey from Post Office Travel Money.
The Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, topped a best-value table of 28 cities, with near-neighbour cities Riga in Latvia (third in the table) and Tallinn in Estonia (fourth) also places where tourists' money goes a long way.
Based on costs associated with a two-night stay for two including sightseeing and refreshments, a trip to Vilnius would set visitors back just over £100.
The next best-value destination was Budapest, where the cost was just under £120. Riga was just over £120 and Tallinn just over £131.
In contrast, the most expensive city surveyed was Boston in the USA, where the cost was as much as £385.
London was one of the more expensive cities in the table, at more than £266, although this was 8.5% down on the total revealed in a similar survey a year ago.
A typical two-day stay in Edinburgh was just under £211, which was 2.1% less than a year ago, while Dublin costs have dipped nearly 8% to £239.
Andrew Brown, of Post Office Travel Money, said: "It's a win/win situation for UK holidaymakers this year in European cities because prices are down in the majority of cities we surveyed, thanks to the soaring value of sterling.
"However, prices continue to vary significantly in different cities so it makes sense to do some holiday homework before taking the plunge and booking a capital break."
