GENO Washington and the Ram JamBand will be bringing their unique blend of soul, R&B and rock ‘n’ roll to the Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Wednesday, July 31. As one of the most successful artists of the ‘60s Geno’s famous soul band was one of the hardest working groups in the UK throughout the latter half of the decade.
Geno had two of the biggestselling UK albums back then, both of which were live albums.
One of them, which he recently re-recorded for Secret Records, Hand Clappin, Foot Stompin, Funky Butt Live!, was in the UK album charts for 48 out of 52 weeks in 1967. Geno Washington enjoys cult status on the soul, R&B, blues and northern soul scenes, due to his unsurpassable reputation as a live performer.
Tickets cost just £14 and are available from the box office on 01495 227206 or online at blackwoodminersinstitute.com
