FOLLOWING a hugely successful sell-out tour in 2012 celebrating the 25th anniversary release of their debut album Raintown, and also the release of their top-20 album The Hipsters, Deacon Blue return in 2013 to embark on their biggest tour in over a decade.

The tour will take in 18 major cities and brings the band to Cardiff this September.

This is an opportunity to see the band perform their all-time classics such as Real Gone Kid, Dignity, and Chocolate Girl plus tracks from their new repertoire which includes four A-listed Radio 2 singles for 2012 from their album The Hipsters.

The tour coincides with the Demon Records release of two Deacon Blue LPs, a reissue of the groundbreaking Raintown plus their latest album The Hipsters, to celebrate the ongoing 25th anniversary of their debut release, followed by their second album When The World Knows Your Name on August 19.

The Hipsters was the first studio album for 11 years by the multi-platinum band when released last year. It was a fantastic return for the pop-rock powerhouses.

July’s exclusive LP package will be on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, remastered from the original source especially for this release. Initial quantities will be on coloured, transparent vinyl and pressed via lacquer for a superb expansive sound. This release contains an exclusive download card with three bonus tracks – two new songs from the recording sessions and the single mix of Turn.

Demon will also be exclusively releasing Raintown – Deacon Blue’s debut, originally released in 1987. The album features some of the band’s best-known songs, Dignity, Chocolate Girl and When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring).

The album reached number 14 and achieved platinum status in the UK, which gave the Glaswegian act one of the most acclaimed and seminal debuts in history. The LP is strictly limited to 1,000 numbered copies, is pressed on 180-gram heavyweight transparent blue vinyl and includes a free download card.

Ricky Ross said: “We can’t wait to get out on the road, our fans were so supportive of the new record, it’s great to hear them singing back the new songs, as well as the older ones of course. It makes every show exciting for us, so we’re looking forward to seeing you all again this year.”

Catch Deacon Blue at St Davids Hall, Cardiff on Thursday September 12.
