FOLLOWING the success of his August tour, Alistair Griffin continues singing for suppers as he adds new September dates to his Food Bank Tour.

Specifically to Alistair’s Cardiff date, Welsh singer/songwriter and musician, James Fox, will make a special appearance as he plays alongside Alistair. This marks a special occasion for the pair as they have not performed together since they took part in Fame Academy 10 years’ ago.

In support of The Trussell Trust’s foodbank network, Alistair is not only giving the profits fromthe tour to the charity, but significantly he will also be collecting food as he travels around the country. He’s asking all those who buy a ticket to bring something fromtheir kitchen cupboard to help foodbanks provide emergency food to more people and families in crisis in the UK.

Working closely with The Trussell Trust, and with Fuller’s Brewery who have generously donated their pub venues and staff for free, the tour comes in response to the marked increase in people visiting foodbanks in the UK.

“Times are hard and for some people that means a daily struggle for the things that a lot of us take for granted. I designed this tour to help raise awareness and directly help people in need.”

The tour so far has been a big success with Alistair raising over a tonne of food for the Trussell Trust.

600kg alone feeds 75 people/30 families for three days.

Catch Alistair at The Gate Arts Centre on Monday September 23.
