Folk clubs are reputedly no-go areas for young people,so that wonderfully entertaining folk trio from Teeside, The Young'uns are a paradox.Sean Cooney, David Eagles and Michael Hughes discovered folk music ten years ago in a pub in Stockton-on -Tees. Sean started to write songs. "Living by the sea, I was inspired by local fishermen, tragedies and stuff" and his songs represent about half of their repertoire. They also introduced instruments -David on accordion and Michael on guitar. The other crucial element of their act is their patter. It's not scripted, never planned. "People think we make stories up- but they're all real".
