Q Magazine hailed Parka as a must-see live band' and the raucous Scottish indie rockers are coming to play a gig at Cardiff's Barfly venue later this month.
This week the band released the manic guitar anthem Disco Dancer on Jeepster Recordings - the label which launched Belle & Sebastian and Snow Patrol, amongst others.
Disco Dancer is already getting spun on a nightly basis by Zane Lowe on his BBC Radio One show, and the band have learned that XFM DJ Alex Zane has made the song his XFM Single of the Week.
The last few months have been a whirlwind success for Parka who, having taken part in their first nationwide tour, played shows with Stereophonics and The Twang, and they saw their debut single shoot to number 11 in the indie charts.
During this time the band not only played their strangest gig yet at UK music expo The Great Escape where they entertained musos and hen parties alike at Brighton Pier's Horatio's Bar, but were also heralded as one of the hottest new bands around by Q Magazine.
Parka play at Cardiff's Barfly on Thursday, January 24.
