TOP British indie rockers The Kooks are heading to Newport this April as part of a ten-date UK tour.
The band will release their eagerly awaited new album Konk on April 14 and play at the Newport Centre on Thursday, April 24.
Formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, where they were all students, the band took their name from a David Bowie track called Kooks on his classic 1971 album Hunky Dory.
Their hit single Naive propelled them to stardom in April 2006 and it became a Top Five UK smash.
They also enjoyed massive success with the album Inside In/Inside Out on the back of that hit.
Tickets go on sale from today and they are available to buy online at www.gigsandtours.com or by calling the 24-hour credit card hotline 0871 2200 260 or from the Newport Centre box office on 01633 656 757.
