THE mighty Simian Mobile Disco are touring the UK throughout February - playing live, not DJing - ahead of releasing their brand new EP Clock next month.
Last year was a massive one for SMD after they released their debut album to great acclaim, remixed a whole host of big acts like Muse, Bjork, Klaxons and James Ford, the one half of the band, still found time to produce loveable Sheffield scamps the Arctic Monkeys' second album too.
And the SMD album release was itself preceded by the all encompassing dancefloor meltdown that was Justice vs Simians "We Are Your Friends", itself a reworking of the 2002 single Never Be Alone by the duo's previous band Simian.
After their incredible support slots last year with both The Chemical Brothers and Klaxons (The Observer claimed they were "sensational" and even better even than Klaxons' SMD decided to keep the party going into 2008 by announcing their own UK live tour.
Special guests are fast-rising Manchester band The Whip, with Turzi in the opening slot.
They play on Thursday, February 14, at Bristol Thekla.
