PHIL Wall's Jazz Cardinals, one of the best known classical jazz bands in the area, will bring some autumn cheer to Caerleon when they play at the White Hart on Sunday.
Based on Freddy Keppard's Jazz Cardinals who introduced New Orleans jazz to Chicago in the 1920s but left very few recordings.
Phil Wall's band recreates a range of styles, from that of the washboards bands of Chicago's South Side to the bigger bands of King Oliver and Luis Russell.
The Newport-based band have been playing all over southern England and Wales since 2001 and are regular performers at clubs in Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol.
They'll be playing at the White Hart from 7.30pm as part of a fund raising event for the Caerleon Arts Festival.
Tickets cost £3, which includes one free drink, will be available at the White Hart on 01633 420255, the Caerleon Tourist Information Centre on 01633 422656, Rafi Goldsmith, at the Ffwrwm on 01633 430271 or at the door on the night.
