EIGHTIES alternative rock band The Alarm bring their Release the Pressure 2010 Tour to the Ebbw Vale Sport Centre on Sunday in a rescheduled gig from December.

Started by Rhyl’s Mike Peters after he saw The Sex Pistols in Chester in the late 1970s, the early Alarm sound featured a mix of amped up acoustic guitars, harmonica and vocals.

The North Wales band has gone on to enjoy global success with 1984’s UK top ten hit album Declaration contributing to The Alarm selling over five million records worldwide.

The band have opened for superstars U2 and the legendary Bob Dylan.

They reached the zenith of their popularity in the 1980s and but they still retain a small but loyal following to the present day.

Catch The Alarm (whose current line-up is Mike Peters, James Stevenson, Craig Adams and Steve Grantley) at the Ebbw Vale Sport Centre on Sunday, April 25 at 8pm.
