Who are you and where do you originate from?

We are The Boy Royals (Jamie, Alex, Luke and Hamish) and we are from Newport and the surrounding areas.

How long have you been together as a band?

We’ve been together for a few years now.

Originally we were called TOWN but felt we were losing out on a lot of potential fans, due to the name not making us the easiest band to find on the internet. This is when we decided we needed a change and became The Boy Royals.

What’s your best live experience to date?

Our best live experience has to be when we supported Lostprophets at Bournemouth’s O2 Academy. It’s an old theatre, so everything about the venue has a ‘grand’ feel to it.

When we walked out on stage to 1,500 fans, we got that instant buzz and the crowd really warmed to us from the first chord.

What are you working on at the moment?

We’ve got our next single coming out on August 13 and it’s called People Like Us. It’s being released as a download-only single so will be on all the usual online outlets.

Where can we catch you live?

We’ll be doing a single launch show at Clwb Ifor Bach on the following Friday, August 17, to celebrate the release.
