SOUTH Wales has long had a vibrant music community which has inspired and delighted many generations.

The South Wales Music Collective is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to resurrecting the area’s local music scene.

Over the next few months the Music Collective will be putting on some of the best up-and-coming live acts in venues around South Wales.

These events begin on Sunday with the “Rock Olympics” held at Six Feet Under in Newport and co-hosted by Newport City Radio.

This event will showcase some of the finest talent in the area including acts such as Blue Gillespie, Enemy Agenda, Clipper, The Motive, The Venture, Geraint Rhys, Bettie J, Thousand Fingers, Simple As! and many more.

The event will take place from 2pm until midnight and tickets are available priced £3 from Diverse Music and Criminal Records in Newport, or you can buy online at eventelephant.com/swmcrockolympics
