So sad to read this notice I worked with Harry many years ago in Parklands Residential Home in Malpas going back to the 1980s. Have such fond memories of this lovely man it was just great to work a shift with him in charge. Everyone liked Harry he worked hard and always with a smile on his face. I was going through a difficult time looking after parents, bringing up young children, we talked and he understood I was so lucky he was there at that time my husband Colin and I will be always be greatful for his help and my daughter Amanda who followed him into Social Work I sorely missed him when he left.
I did bump into him a few years ago we had a long chat and caught up, so wish I could have done that again one more time. Vicki you were only young then but your dad so loved you and often fondly talked about you and how proud he was.
To all the family please accept our sincere condolences. RIP Harry xx Carol and Colin Bates

Photo below of Harry with Hazel enjoying an evening to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Golden Lion, Magor a few months ago. Wendy worked with Harry in Newport Social services and I met him more recently when he formed a wonderful partnerhip with Hazel. It was a great pleasure to have known him and enjoy his company with Hazel on several occasions. Harry has certainly left us with many happy memories of a life well lived as we express our heartfelt sympathy to Hazel,Vicky and family from Mike and Wendy Sammons
