RADWAY Ena Vereta With deepest sadness and sorrow we announce the unexpected death of our dearly beloved Mother - Ena Vereta Radway, who passed away on 2nd August 2024, aged 87 years old. Mum was the widow of the late Gerald Radway and a source of great joy in our lives. We her family are devastated by her loss. Mum arrived in Newport, from Jamaica, in the early 60s as one of the pioneering Windrush Generation. She impacted the community with her ardent love for God and her church family. She was a dedicated Nursing Auxiliary in the Maternity Unit of the Royal Gwent Hospital until her retirement after which she became the Team Leader for the famous cooks who provided delicious Jamaican food every Wednesday from 2009 - 2020 at the Seasoners' Luncheon Club, New Seasons Church. Sadly, missed by all her family, church brethren and friends. Forever in our hearts, forever on our minds. Funeral will be held at New Testament Church of God (aka) New Seasons 173 Commercial Road, Pillgwenlly, Newport, NP20 2PL on Friday 13th September at 12.00pm followed by interment at Christchurch Cemetery.
