A TEENAGER is distraught after his bicycle – which was the last present from his mum before she died – was stolen.
Ethan Fowler, 14, was given the Carrera Vulcan bicycle, worth £700, by his mum Wendy as a birthday present shortly before she died suddenly on July 16 last year, aged just 42.
Ethan was at a friend’s house in Gaer Park Avenue, Newport, on November 5 when he says he saw a man in a hooded top ride away on the bike, which was outside, at around 5.30pm.
Despite driving around the area for an hour after with Ethan, his father, Martyn, was unable to find the bicycle.
He says he reported the incident to the police that evening.
He said: “Ethan is very distraught, more so because it was one of the last things his mother bought him. It was very special to him.”
Mr Fowler is now offering a reward for information which leads to the return of the bicycle.
The bicycle is blue with a green ‘Monster’ energy drink sign on the frame and a key lock around the seat post.
