THERE will be more than a few sore heads this morning after the celebrations following County’s stunning victory yesterday.

A capacity crowd watched them demolish Grimsby to win a well-deserved place in the play-off finals next weekend.

No doubt a sea of Black and Amber will be heading towards Wembley next Sunday to show their support for the team and to represent our city.

And judging by the behaviour of fans yesterday they will do us proud again.

Before the match the police said they wanted it to be a celebration of football and a showcase for Newport and so it proved to be.

Police reported no major trouble before or after the game and kept a relatively low-key presence in and around the ground.

A pitch invasion after the game was in good spirits too, as fans were overcome with emotion.

It is hard to believe Newport County are just 90 minutes away from potentially securing a place in the Football League after more than 20 years in the wilderness.

And if the Exiles play like they did yesterday,Wrexham may well be going away empty-handed for another year.

Come on County!
