A MAN accused of the murder of three generations of the same family sent texts threatening to kill his girlfriend while she was carrying his twins, a court heard.

Giving evidence, Ceri Harrison, a friend of victim Kim Buckley, said Carl Mills had sent "vile" messages to Ms Buckley's phone saying he was going to kill Ms Buckley's daughter Kayleigh "with the babies inside her" and was going to "stab her".

The court previously heard that Mills, 28, had been in an on-off relationship with teenager Kayleigh Buckley and she had fallen pregnant with twins during this time.

One of the twins Angel was stillborn while the surviving twin Kimberley was allowed home after spending six months in hospital.

Mills, of no fixed abode, denies the murder of Kim Buckley, 46, her daughter Kayleigh, 17, and granddaughter Kimberley, six months.

They all died when a fire ripped through their home in Tillsland, Coed Eva, Cwmbran, on September 18, 2012.

Continuing her evidence, Mrs Harrison said Mills had also posted threats on Kim Buckley's Facebook page saying he was going to set the house on fire. She added there was also a message sent threatening to stab Kim and Kayleigh Buckley, the twins and Kim's son Shaun.

Louise Davey, another friend of Kim Buckley's, also gave evidence describing Mills as "possessive and controlling" with Kayleigh. She said Mills had also sent texts to Kayleigh threatening to burn the house down and also one in which he said he was going to "dig up the baby's grave".

Regina Pritchard, Kim Buckley's supervisor in her job as a cleaner at Primark said Mills had told Kim Buckley he wanted to "take her off the face of the earth".

She added that Mills had called his baby "a mongrel" when visiting her in hospital.

She said: "Kayleigh wanted to bond with the baby but Kim said he (Mills) wouldn't let her. He was jealous."
