GOALKEEPING legend Neville Southall and hip hop star Tinchy Stryder will lead an attempt to break a Guinness World Record at a music festival in Monmouthshire.
The duo will be key players in helping secure a world record by scoring 1,860 penalty kicks consecutively into the same goal at the Breakin’ Out Festival in Abergavenny.
The event, in Bailey Park on September 7, features acts such as X-Factor finalist Amelia Lilly, the Loveable Rogues, Twist & Pulse and Newport rappers Goldie Lookin’ Chain.
The record-breaking challenge is being run in partnership with PG10 Coaching and will see acts, staff and attendees take part in the attempt.
Mr Southall, MBE, said: “As an ex professional sportsman I truly believe in education and sport, whether it leads to a healthy lifestyle, a life away from substance misuse or world class performances. l look forward to attending the festival in September.”
Tinchy Stryder added: “The world record attempt gives the festival a little extra buzz, too. Everyone can join in on making Breakin’ Out 2013 a success and to help promote the message of a healthy lifestyle to the young people.”
The first event was held at Abergavenny Leisure Centre and saw Chip (aka Chipmunk), Skepta and The Voice star Hannah Berney perform in front of hundreds of young music fans at the alcohol- free event.
The event is supported by the Arts Council for Wales and Monmouthshire council.
