BABY Kimberley had battled for six months at the Royal Gwent Hospital's neonatal unit In Newport before being allowed home to start her new Iife the day before the fire.
Since being bom prematurely, she had suffered from a number of health issues Including a heart problem, difficulties with feeding and was dependant on oxygen.
Staff at the hospital had formed a close relationship with Kimberley and her family and the news of their deaths the day after Kimberley had been discharged caused deep shock.
In a statement from the staff. It said: "All the staff on the neonatal unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital were deeply shocked to hear about the tragic event.
"Inevitably a close relationship develops between staff and the babies we care for and their families.
"Kimberley was such a fighter and tor her. her mother and her grandmother to lose their lives In such tragic circumstances is devastating.
"Out thoughts are with the friends and family."
