MORE than a thousand people gathered in Ebbw Vale on Saturday for the second annual classic bus show in the town centre.
Double and single deckers from across Gwent and South Wales from years gone by were on display for locals to explore.
Children could enjoy a free ride while Cardiff Transport Preservation Group put on a free open top bus tour.
The eleven buses on show included examples from the old Red + White, National Welsh, and Caerphilly Council Transport bus firms.
Karin Lamb, town centre manager for Blaenau Gwent council, organised the event in partnership with Ebbw Vale Business Forum.
She said at least 1,000 people had come to the event by around midday yesterday.
"It brings a lot of people into the town," she said, saying that the team was also trying to raise money for this year's christmas lights appeal for Ebbw Vale town centre.
The appeal is hoping to raise £10,000 over the whole year.
Bus enthusiast Bernard Walker, 71, of Newport, said the appeal of the vintage vehicles lies in the nolstalgia they inspire.
"It brings back memories," he said.
The event is planned to be held again next year.
