A MAN arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal crash on the A40 has been released on bail.
The 44-year-old man, who also suffered serious injuries, was arrested after his silver VW Golf was involved in a crash with a silver Ford Ka at around 9.30pm on Saturday, July 20, between Raglan and Abergavenny.
He has not been named by Gwent Police.
The driver of the Ka, David Marshall, a 78-year-old man from Llangattock, died in the crash. His wife Mary, who sustained serious injuries, is still in Nevill Hall Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, in particular for the driver of a Ford Transit van or similar, which was believed to be travelling in the same direction when the collision occurred, to contact them on 101 and quote log number 608 20/7/13.
