Burst water main disrupts street in Maindee

Police were called to Church Road, Maindee, around 6.05am after residents reported seeing the road surface rising.

Welsh Water were called to the burst pipe and remained at the site near the junction with Gloster Place until the afternoon.

Temporary traffic lights were put in place to control traffic flow as engineers using a digger worked to fix the problem.

Some local businesses were forced to close for the morning as they had no water.
