STAFF at a Chepstow office were inspired by the Tour de France as they cycled for charity.
The team from the Coventry Building Society pedalled 160km for St David’s Hospice Foundation as part of the Tour de Branch, raising nearly £300.
Their challenge came as four senior managers from across the UK took to the road to cycle 550 miles, visiting the company’s 70 branches.
The route took them as far north as Sheffield and as far south as Frome in Somerset.
They set off on July 22 and reached their final destination of Coventry by the end of the week.
Each branch across the country held their own fundraising events to support the riders and Chepstow held a cake sale along with their in-branch cycle challenge to welcome them as they reached the town.
Customer service assistant Ramzan Sharif said: “The event was fantastic, the whole team was engaged, although we had a few sore legs!”
The Chepstow branch has also managed to secure £1,000 in funding from work for a marquee and tablecloths for events run by St David’s.
