A CWMBRAN grandmother has had her first book of Cwmbran ghost tales published.
Keen writer, Carol Lewis, 44, has been a member of Cwmbran Writers Group for 13 years.
She said: “My interest in history began when I started researching my family tree and I found that my great great grandfather, John Lewis, owned a farm in Two Locks.”
She has since discovered the history of many of Cwmbran’s building.
She said: “I would hear stories about particular buildings, often be linked to ghost stories, so I decided to find out more.”
The mother of four and grandmother of five wrote as a hobby, but in June she decided to release her book to the public using Amazon.
She said: “I never thought I would have a book published, but Amazon has been key for people like me to get published.”
Her book, Cwmbran History and Mystery, explores the spooky side of Cwmbran and attempts to discover what could have given rise to such tales.
Some of the buildings included are the old police station in Old Cwmbran, which was also the scene of a train crash in the 1860s.
The newly published author has also released her first novel, Hanbury Park, which is a tale of romance and conflict set in Cwmbran.
The books are available in paperback from Amazon.co.uk or as a download for Kindle.
