Traffic in the area is still bad with delays and queues. Reader Paul Griffiths said traffic in Pontnewynydd was still stuck outside his home in Freeholdland Road.

The A4043 Osborne Road remains closed both ways.

The A4043 Osborne Road is still closed both ways with heavy traffic reported due to police accident investigation work between Hospital Road and B4246 Hill Street.
Torfaen council say the road will remain closed throughout rush-hour today.
Police advise that traffic, especially large vehicles, use the A472 from Crumlin or the A4042 from Abergavenny.

Stagecoach have stated that currently no bus services are running north of Pontypool.
Inspectors are out and monitoring traffic conditions and they will restart services as soon as traffic conditions improve.

Eyewitnesses report "around 20" forensic officers placing markers on the road with a black push bike and red pullover are on the pavement next to them.
Traffic is being diverted through sidestreets around Pontnewynydd and Wainfelin with a cordon covering a radius of about one mile.
One man visiting his mother on Merchant Hill told how she described to him a scene of "chaos" from around 9am with forensic officers arriving at the scene and police cordoning off the area.
The accident also caused problems for buses with one Stagecoach bus and two from Peak's travel unable to pass through.
A Stagecoach driver said he'd been travelling from Brynmawr to Pontypool on the 8am service and has been waiting for the last three hours for news on when road will re-open.
Peak's Travel are based on the Pontnewynydd Industrial Estate and while most services are able to run as normal, some, such as those destined for the Cwmbran area are still waiitng to leave.
One driver said "Ive been told it could be two hours but no-one really knows, so its just a case of waiting."

Police now say the man was injured after he fell off his bike rather than after colliding with another vehicle.

A cyclist is in a critical condition with serious head injuries after colliding with a vehicle on George Street in Pontnewynydd this morning.
The 63-year-old man from the Pontypool area has been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital following the crash at about 6.10am.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and have had to close George Street to carry out enquiries.

THE A4043 in Wainfelin, Pontypool is closed this morning and police, including scene of crime officers are at the scene.
