THE Argus understands the woman who died after today's shooting to be Caroline, sister to five brothers including Newport business Paul Dare who runs a metals business on Felnex Industrial Estate, Newport, and Brian Dare, 55.
Brian Dare said the family was still in shock at what happened to Caroline, who was married for 27 years and had two teenage children, a daughter, 19, and son, 16.
He said his sister and her husband lived together in Cwmbran before their split.
Police visited the Lliswerry scrap yard where Mr Dare works with his brother Paul, to break the news of their sister's death around lunch time yesterday.
He said: "The police came after break about 12pm. I couldn't believe it. It's one of those things - you don't expect it to happen to your family."
Caroline was one of six siblings including Ronald, Tony, Brian, Vincent and Paul.
